Climate Action & Sustainability Committee · Meeting of September 10, 2026
WENHAM — The Wenham Climate Action and Sustainability Committee discussed declining organics program participation and will pursue an education campaign. Committee member Susanne Patrolia reported that participation has fallen since the program's 2011 launch; the committee favored education and incentives and Patrolia will request current figures from town and Casella. The committee also addressed the Town Hall geothermal system's higher-than-expected electricity consumption, requesting before-and-after comparisons; the Iron Rail Community Solar project faces delay due to National Grid's new interconnection requirements but reduced costs, with approval expected by end of September; and member Matthew DiGuiseppe will draft a letter to the School Board on cost-allocation issues from Hamilton's non-adoption of Climate Leader designation.
