WENHAM — Finance Committee Appointing Committee appointed Alex Varelis to three-year term. The committee voted unanimously to place Varelis on the Finance Committee effective immediately through June 30, 2029. Varelis, who operates two businesses and a real-estate portfolio, met with Town Moderator Roger L.
Smerage, Finance Committee Chair Robert Popadic, and Select Board Chair Deirdre Pierotti. The committee also reorganized internally, selecting Smerage as chair and clerk and Pierotti as vice-chair for fiscal 2027. One Finance Committee vacancy remains unfilled as the committee pursues recruitment.
