Preservation Committee approves $351,250 in grant recommendations
Community Preservation Committee · Meeting of January 20, 2026
Wenham Preservation Committee advances $351,000 in grant recommendations. The Community Preservation Committee approved $351,250 across six projects for Annual Town Meeting consideration, including $200,000 for Wenham Conservation Commission land acquisitions, $100,000 for digitizing historic Town Hall documents, and $38,600 for the Wenham Museum's HVAC replacement, with Chair Janet Burt presiding. The committee rejected a $10,000 Cemetery Commission digitization request in a 7-2 vote and voted 5-4 against a $300,000 Wenham Affordable Housing Trust request to rehabilitate three units at 24 Cherry Street, citing incomplete project components.
Four additional historic preservation projects will be considered after the Wenham Historic District Commission determines their historical significance.
