Wenham Affordable Housing Trust backs Cherry Street project, supports rental model

Wenham Affordable Housing Trust approves consultant contract and sets rental income limits. The Trust unanimously approved a $5,000 contract with LA Associates for affordable housing consultation services and voted unanimously to set the Area Median Income threshold at 60 percent, which permits use of HOME funds with rental costs not exceeding 60 percent of AMI. The Trust reaffirmed its $300,000 funding commitment to a three-unit affordable housing project at 24 Cherry Street and supported the concept of affordable rentals, pending additional details on unit mix.
The Trust also received a draft Affordable Housing Action Plan scope of work from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, funded in part by a $25,000 technical assistance grant.
