Wenham Board of Health reviews chicken permitting, flu vaccination. Chair Regina Baker reported Massachusetts Department of Public Health has documented very high flu activity and residents should continue vaccination and hygiene precautions; the board is acquiring a vaccine refrigerator before the 2026–2027 flu season. Frank Giacoloni, Assistant Health Agent, raised the issue that Wenham lacks a formal chicken coop permitting process despite existing sanitation and zoning regulations, and the board agreed to research procedures in other towns and consider drafting new regulations.
Kerra Washington, Eastern Essex Regional Public Health Coalition epidemiologist, reported a state-accepted work plan and ongoing pursuit of disease surveillance access; Jesse Palm, regional social worker, announced plans to expand senior programming in 2026.
