Wenham Select Board Approves Five-Year, $199,900 Contract for Town Administrator Poulos
WENHAM — August 19, 2025 — Wenham Select Board unanimously approves a five-year, $199,900 contract for Town Administrator Steve Poulos, effective July 1. Vice Chair Gary Cheeseman, who led negotiations, cited a regional salary survey and the town's need to remain competitive, telling the board that "after quite a bit of instability prior to Steve's arrival in town, we now have an excellent town administrator." The contract includes 3 percent annual raises and adjusted disciplinary provisions. In other unanimous votes, the board signed an order of taking formalizing Spring Hill Farm Road and Angus Circle as public ways — the final step after a June special town meeting approval — and adopted a new building projects policy requiring the use of a general contractor or construction manager for multi-trade projects. The board also voted to accept a National Grid easement at the Buker School for electric vehicle charging stations in its original form after the utility declined two edits proposed by town counsel KP Law, and corrected the appointment terms of two Board of Registrars members, extending Christine M. Burns through March 31, 2028.
