Open Space & Recreation Committee · Meeting of July 7, 2026

Wenham's Open Space & Recreation Committee approved three sets of backlogged minutes and took neighbor input on Pingree Park's tennis courts. Members cleared the November 5, February 4 and March 4 minutes after several meetings lacked a quorum. Abutter Dan Beckman of 205 Main Street said he supports keeping tennis but that the courts sit inside the 15-foot setback required today.

Matt Smith of 35 Larch Row and Phil LaFontaine proposed an enclosed futsal field, while David Miller said nearby residents oppose pickleball or a skate park. The committee also agreed to add "West Wenham Playground" to the Higginson Park signs, and the presiding member said any project would likely draw on "the Community Preservation Act."
